CANINE CONDITIONING
I am a Licenced Canine Conditioning Coach offering 1:1 conditioning sessions for dogs and their Owners near Dorking, Surrey.
Canine conditioning offers a variety of benefits that contribute to a dog’s overall health, physical fitness, and quality of life. Healthy pet dogs of any age can benefit from having a strong core and completing the foundation level.
Whether the dog is a family pet, working dog, or athlete, a well-structured conditioning program can help in numerous ways:
Tailoring Conditioning Programs (One to One Sessions at my clinic)
Your dog’s conditioning program should be tailored to them, based on their age, fitness level, previous injuries, and specific goals. Regular evaluations should be done to assess progress and make adjustments as needed as well as a detailed assessment prior to starting conditioning. Each dog has unique physical abilities, fitness levels, and potential limitations. A 1:1 approach enables me to develop a customized conditioning plan that targets specific areas such as strength, flexibility, endurance, or balance based on the dog’s needs and health condition.
Working directly with your dog, I can observe subtle changes in posture, gait, and movement patterns. Immediate feedback can be provided to correct any issues, helping to prevent injuries and ensure proper form during exercises. Correct form is one of the founding principles of the Canine Conditioning Academy and is what makes it so effective.
If a dog is recovering from an injury or has specific physical limitations, a 1:1 approach ensures that exercises are selected and modified to promote safe rehabilitation without risking further injury.
Agility Dogs
Canine conditioning for agility focuses on preparing dogs physically and mentally to optimize their performance and minimize the risk of injuries during agility events. It involves exercises that target flexibility, strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and proprioception. Proper conditioning ensures that the dog is prepared for the high-intensity demands of agility activities such as jumping, weaving, and sprinting.
Gun Dogs
Canine conditioning is highly beneficial for gun dogs due to the physical and mental demands placed on them during hunting and fieldwork. Gun dogs often work in challenging environments and require peak physical performance, stamina, and coordination to perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
Flyball Dogs
Canine conditioning offers numerous benefits for flyball dogs, helping them perform better with better box turn execution, stay injury-free, and recover more effectively.
Canicross Dogs
Canine conditioning provides essential benefits for canicross dogs, enhancing their performance, stamina, and overall well-being. Canicross involves running with a dog harnessed to its handler, and the physical demands on the dog are significant, we can work on building explosive power and muscle development to increase performance.
